I have been able to get the Cisco VPN client, the one which goes by the name vpnclient-winx64-msi-5.0.07.0440-k9, on Windows 8.1 x64 machines. Now I have a Windows 10 TP machine.
Has anyone gotten this client to install on 10? I get the following:
Error 27850. Unable to manage networking component. Operating system corruption may be preventing installation.
Ring any bells? I also cannot get the Citrix DNE installed. Very similar message.

Is there any information about if Windows 10 Technical Preview will then be upgradable to the final release ?
I'm asking that because I would like to use it on my primary PC (I'm aware of the risks but I accept them), in place of Windows 8.1 But I'd like to avoid to reinstall all after the release of the final version.

Windows 10 Technical Preview question, running Windows 7 as my base OS.
Before I noticed the .iso files that were available, I ran an .exe from the Microsoft preview website that apparently configured my Windows Update to download an update called "Update for Windows." If I open Windows Update, it asks if I want to "Upgrade to Windows Technical Preview." I do not want this update now that I have the .iso to virtualize.
If I try to hide this update, it reappears! I want to get rid of that update, so how do I do it?

I know how to do that on Windows Vista and Windows 7, and I know how to do that on Windows 8 and Windows 8.1, but neither of the ways work with Windows 10; it always defaults into the "Home" view.
(I am basically reposting this question for Windows 10.)

I am trying to install VirtualBox guest additions on Windows 10 technical preview, and am getting the following error:

I imagine I am not the only one having this issue, is there any way to force it to install?

In linux I use a shortcut to switch between 4 workspaces: win+1/2/3/4.
I would like to have something like this in Windows 10.

I installed Windows 10 Preview on a fresh SSD and noticed that there is a tiny 450MB Recovery Partition at the end of C:

(Ignore the Extended partition containing F:, as I added that myself afterwards)
I'm pretty certain that no such partition appeared on a fresh installation of Windows 7 and I cannot remember seeing anything like that with Windows 8 or 8.1.
So, is this new to Windows 10 and what is it for?
What does this tiny partition contain?

I'm testing windows 10 build 9926. Fresh install.
I'm having problems with pin sign-in option.
1. I've added a pin and restarted it and could only sign-in with password.
2. I tried to remove my pin sign-in, but I couldn't find the option, do anyone know if it exist?

I just installed Windows 10 developer preview but can't figure out how to cycle through the new virtual desktops with the keyboard.
I'm looking for the following shortcuts if they exist:
- Switch to the next/previous desktop
- Go to desktop number N
- Close the current desktop
- Open a new desktop
Are these controls implemented yet?

I have my home PC on the Windows 10 Fast Ring. It recently updated to build 14521 which has a critical bug in it, preventing Git from working. Build 14527, which fixes this bug, was released on 2/3 (4 days ago at the time of this writing). Yet my computer hasn't updated to the new build yet. Running "Check for Updates" doesn't find anything new.
It seems like Windows Update is waiting an unspecified amount of time before rolling out the upgrade to me. Is there any way to force Windows to update immediately?

We have a program that is having problem starting up on Windows 10. If the program is NOT run as administrator, it popups a "Access Denied" message right before it starts. If we run the program as an administrator, it does NOT popup any error message and loads normally. However, now the program won't run at STARTUP. So, we need to run our program as administrator and be able to automatically run the program at startup.
Update: Even though my question and the duplicate question maybe the same but the answers provided for both questions did not solve my problem. Task Scheduler only starts my application or program as a background process. Thus, my program doesn't load. However, I do see my process in the task manager under background process. That's all.

I am an early adopter of Windows 10, and I am a .NET / Web developer so I like to push the bounds a bit when testing out a new OS. I also try to work against the latest / freshest builds available.
With prior releases of windows, when the Windows button and taskbar became unresponsive you could kill the explorer.exe
process in Task Manager.
With Windows 10 (RC), the game has changed a bit. Anyone know how to reset the explorer.exe
process?
How can I recover when the OS is hung up and the start button is unresponsive.
I'd prefer not to (a) log out or (b) restart.
This is more of a curiosity than a REAL problem, but thanks in advance!
UPDATE / CLARIFICATION
The new task manager doesn't show process names, and there is an application called "Windows Explorer" but I think its limited to the actual file browser (Explorer) and restarting it has no effect on the start menu.
