What do Flags and Reqs mean in uTorrent?

I'm seeding a torrent file in uTorrent, and under Peers tab it shows the following statistics:

01 02

What do those Flags (some combinations of upper and lower case letters like u, h, i, x, e, p) mean? Secondly, what does Reqs (0|5, 0|7, 0|11, etc.) mean? It's not visible for every peer and its value changes every second.

μTorrent downloads remain stuck on the 'checked 0.0%' state

This started happening randomly, all downloads stop right after getting their metadata with a "checked 0.0%" message. Closing and restarting the client may start the first download in the list, but that's also random.

One suggestion I found was to delete %AppData%\utorrent\resume.dat. The first time I fired up the client after I deleted it everything worked fine but then the file was recreated and I was back where I started.

I'm using the current stable version, 3.3.

Magnet links do not display data in uTorrent

For some reason on certain websites when I press on magnet links it redirects me to 'Add new torrent' and its empty. Size: 0B and the list below it is empty too.

Any idea how to fix this?

Can uTorrent auto re-order torrents (for maximum bandwidth utilization)?

How can I automatically change download priority of torrents based on certain criteria?

For example, I have 12 torrents queued up right now. And I have configured uTorrent to keep a maximum of 4 torrents active due to my bandwidth.

Now, I want to automatically change the download order of torrents in certain intervals, based first on seed/peer ratio and then on number of seeds(in case of a conflict).

The reason I want to do this is to make most out of bandwidth available to me.

Is this possible? (honestly, I don't think it is possible)

I am okay to switch to some other torrent client if required.

µTorrent mentions that I don't have enough space, but I do?

I am trying to download a 4.8 GiB DVD ISO image over bit torrent, but µTorrent is giving me an error that I do not have enough space. I didn't believe it at first so I checked for myself and I definitely have enough space, over 60 GiB left:

How do I remove the ADs in uTorrent?

Since version 3.2, uTorrent displays ADs in the form of a "Featured Torrent" banner and a small square advertising in the sidebar. Is there a way to disable those?

Super slow opening my downloads folder

I have an exe file in my download folder that I half downloaded through utorrent (it's not piracy, a legit file from people who use bittorrent to distribute large files). I think I tried to open it while it was still sharing, that is, did not stop the upload. That actually froze my computer. When I restart in utorrent I set the file to be deleted. Unfortunately even though utorrent doesn't see that file anymore, it's still visible in my download folder.

Whenever I try to open my download folder it literally takes 10 minutes or more. It opens, but is empty and the blue progress bar needs a long time to complete.

After completion I can use the download folder normally, but opening and closing things in that folder takes a long time. I see the exe that I tried to download. I tried to delete it. But it was taking so long 30+ minutes that I eventually just hit cancel. That doesn't even work, and it was slowing down the computer. Couldn't figure out how to stop the delete so I just pulled the plug.

Should I just forget about that dl folder and set a new one? Is there something I can do?

Thanks.

Why uTorrent doesn't respect upload limit?

I have set an upload limit of 30kB/s, but sometimes it is uploading 100kB/s. I have tested uTorrent and BitTorrent and they have the same problem. I disabled the setting "use more upload slot if upload < 90%". I have set 30kB/s limit both in the current torrent preferences and in the general preferences.

Why does it still use more bandwidth?

EDIT. Found the solution, enable "limit local peer bandwidth, under bittorrent tab"

Why is my upload speed is much less than my download speed?

My download speed can go up to 1 or 2 Mbps but my upload speed barely goes above 100 kbps. I have tried checking on my preferences on my utorrent and also firewall and they all seem to be at optimal levels for uploading. Please help. Thank you!

What kind of IP address is this? (WIN-F9PTTKUMI2U:29901)

While downloading a file with μTorrent, I noticed a strange peer with an address that was not an IPv4 or IPv6 address.

μTorrent showed it as WIN-F9PTTKUMI2U:29901.

What kind of address is this?

What does the encryption setting of uTorrent do?

I'm having trouble finding precise information about the encryption setting of uTorrent. From what I understand, it's used to hide the torrent traffic from ISPs so that they cannot make the difference between the uTorrent traffic and regular traffic.

  1. When a web admin looks at encrypted bittorrent traffic, does it appear encrypted?
  2. Can they extract some information from it - file name, content, etc.?

From what I read around, it's not clear to me whether this is really encryption or just obfuscation.
