In my application, I have a UIWebview
that loads linkedin auth page for login. When user logs in, cookies saves into the application.
My app has a logout button that is not related to linkedin login. So when user clicks on this button, he logs off from the app. I want that this log off will clear his linkedin cookies also from the app, so that user will log out completely.

Is it possible to read the raw HTML content of a web page that has been loaded into a UIWebView
?
If not, is there another way to pull raw HTML content from a web page in the iPhone SDK (such as an equivalent of the .NET WebClient::openRead
)?
Thanks in advance!

I have an app with a UITableView
and a corresponding detail view for each row. In the detail view I have to display some text and a background image (text is different for each row, but the image remains the same). The easiest way, in my opinion, is to put the text in an .rtf file and display it in a UIWebView
. Then just put a UIImageView
behind the UIWebView
.
I've tried to set the UIWebView
's opacity to zero in IB, but it didn't help.
Can you help me?

I have a UIWebView in my app which I want to use to display an image which will link to another url.
I'm using
<img src="image.jpg" /> to load the image.
The problem is that the image doesn't load (ie. it can't be found) even though it's added as a resource in my project and is copied into the bundle.
I've tried using NSBundle to get the full path of the image and using that and it still doesn't show up in the web view.
Any ideas?

I need to extract the contents of the title tag from an HTML page displayed in a UIWebView. What is the most robust means of doing so?
I know I can do:
- (void)webViewDidFinishLoad:(UIWebView *)webView{
NSString *theTitle=[webView stringByEvaluatingJavaScriptFromString:@"document.title"];
}
However, that only works if javascript is enabled.
Alternatively, I could just scan the text of the HTML code for the title but that feels a bit cumbersome and might prove fragile if the page's authors got freaky with their code. If it comes to that, what's the best method to use for processing the html text within the iPhone API?
I feel that I've forgotten something obvious. Is there a better method than these two choices?
Update:
Following from the answer to this question: UIWebView: Can You Disable Javascript? there appears to be no way to turn off Javascript in UIWebView. Therefore the Javascript method above will always work.

I'm trying to load a html file into my UIWebView but it won't work. Here's the stage: I have a folder called html_files in my project. Then I created a webView in interface builder and assigned an outlet to it in the viewController. This is the code I'm using to append the html file:
-(void)viewDidLoad
{
NSString *htmlFile = [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:@"sample" ofType:@"html" inDirectory:@"html_files"];
NSData *htmlData = [NSData dataWithContentsOfFile:htmlFile];
[webView loadData:htmlData MIMEType:@"text/html" textEncodingName:@"UTF-8" baseURL:[NSURL URLWithString:@""]];
[super viewDidLoad];
}
That won't work and the UIWebView is blank. I'd appreciate some help.

I'm developing an iOS 4 application using iOS SDK latest version and XCode 4.2.
I have a XIB with a UIWebView
with Alpha = 1.0, Background set to Clear Color and Opaque is not set. On this XIB I setup an image as background with this code:
- (id)initWithNibName:(NSString *)nibNameOrNil bundle:(NSBundle *)nibBundleOrNil
{
self = [super initWithNibName:nibNameOrNil bundle:nibBundleOrNil];
if (self) {
UIColor *background = [[UIColor alloc] initWithPatternImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"AboutBackground.png"]];
self.view.backgroundColor = background;
[background release];
}
return self;
}
The UIWebView
is showing an static html:
<html><head></head><body style=\"margin:0 auto;text-align:center;background-color: transparent; color:white\">...</body></html>
On iOS 5 simulator, its background is transparent, but on an iOS 4 device is grey.
Any clue?

I have a very simple iOS app with a uiwebview loading a very simple test page (test.html):
<html>
<body>
<img src="img/myimage.png" />
</body>
</html>
I load this test.html file into my web view:
NSURL *url = [[NSBundle mainBundle] URLForResource:@"test" withExtension:@"html"];
NSString *html = [NSString stringWithContentsOfURL:url encoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding error:nil];
NSURL *baseUrl = [NSURL fileURLWithPath:[[NSBundle mainBundle] bundlePath]];
[webView loadHTMLString:html baseURL:baseUrl];
This works fine if I reference the image without the relative path and put the referenced image in the root path under Targets -> Copy Bundle Resources within XCode, however I can't get it to work with the relative path as shown in my html file. There must be a way to do this, I have lots of images, css, javascript files that I want to load into the webview and I would like not to have to have everything in the root and have to change all the references in my web app.

I have a UIWebView with different (single page) content. I'd like to find out the CGSize of the content to resize my parent views appropriately. The obvious -sizeThatFits:
unfortunately just returns the current frame size of the webView.

I already tried getting the current URL of my UIWebView
with: webview.request.URL
.
Unfortunately the NSURL
was empty. Anything wrong here? I am working with Xcode 3.2.2 beta 5.
The code above should be executed in the UIWebView
delegate didStartLoad
.

I'm working on an app where I'm going to use both HTML5 in UIWebView and native iOS framework together. I know that I can implement communication between JavaScript and Objective-C. Are there any libraries that simplify implementing this communication? I know that there are several libraries to create native iOS apps in HTML5 and javascript (for example AppMobi, PhoneGap), but I'm not sure if there is a library to help create native iOS apps with heavy JavaScript usage. I need to:
- Execute JS methods from Objective-C
- Execute Objective-C methods from JS
- Listen to native JS events from Objective-C (for example DOM ready event)
