How can I align a table so that text floats around it in Google Docs?

I have some text in a Google Document, and I want to have a small table beside this text.

The problem is that the table takes the whole row, so I can't have any text left of the table. Is it even possible?

Delete a table from a Gmail message?

I have an email which I want to forward but which contains an embedded table. I want to delete this table in the email I am going to send but no matter what I try: the table stays in the message: gmail screenshote

Is there a solution for deleting this table? I was looking for a button to use plain text instead of html but I did not see one. I was hoping that with converting it to plain text, the table would be gone.

Is there a webapp to create ASCII art tables? [closed]

Is there a webapp that can create ASCII-art tables like this one? It doesn't have to use ASCII (it can be Unicode), I meant ASCII in the sense of ASCII-art.

------------------------------------------------
| | ColA | ColB |
------------------------------------------------
| Row1 | CellA1 | CellB1 |
------------------------------------------------
| Row2 | CellA2 | CellB2 |
------------------------------------------------
| Row3 | CellA3 | CellB3 |
------------------------------------------------

This would be useful for sites that don't support proper tables (like StackExchange).

Insert a table in Gmail

How can I create a table in a Gmail message? I've currently got the data in a Google Docs spreadsheet, but copying and pasting that into the Gmail editor just pastes tab-delimited columns, not a table. I've tried it in both the plain text and rich text editors.

How to center a table in Google Docs?

Centering data within a table cell or cells in Google Docs is straightforward and easy (highlight and center).

But how to center an entire table?

This should be easy, but it isn't. I can't for the life of me figure it out.

Any help?

How do you move a row in a Google Document table?

How do you move rows in a Google Document table? The obvious thing - selecting the entire row, cut, paste - does something very strange (inserts the row as a single cell with a nested table containing the cut row).

How do I create basic tables with columns in draw.io?

I want to create simple objects such as this:

+-------------+
| Container |
+-------------+
| col1 | col2 |
+-------------+

How can I accomplish this in draw.io? I found "divider" elements that can create rows, but nothing comparable to create vertical splits (columns).

I also tried containers that looked similar to above diagram, but the text in the columns doesn't react to the divider's position, nor does it appear to allow manual dragging to correct this. This means that any custom text will ruin the layout.

The answer to the following question How do I add columns and rows in a draw.io table? didn't help me. Only a few of the template object show a "table section" in the format panel, and only after double clicking the table followed by single click. Then - using said menu - one has to pry apart these overly complex, pre-styled containers, hoping to arrive at something simple.

Is there a bottom-up approach to what I want, or maybe a suitable container I missed?

In a Google Spreadsheet, show all combinations for a selection of columns

I have a sequence of letters, in a Google Spreadsheet:

  | A B C D E F
--|----------------------
1 | U Y 0 4 X N
2 | H X Y
3 | W

The first row contains a character pattern that serves as a template. Each subsequent row contains variants of the values in some of the columns. The first row values are used for columns that don't contain variants.

There are between 1 and 2 variants per column that has variants, and these columns do not necessarily have the same number of variants. In the future, the problem could potentially have three or more variants per column.

How can I get all variations of the sequence? Such as:

UY04XN
HY04XN
UY04YN
HY04YN
...

I believe this is something to do with 'Cartesian Products', and I suppose the SQL would be roughly of the form:

SELECT table1.column1, table2.column2...
FROM table1, table2...

... but I have no idea how that would translate into flexible spreadsheet function code.

How to edit a table (created by Lotus Notes) in the email reply (in Gmail)?

I've received an email with an embedded table. I want to put some marks inside that table (i.e., edit the content of the table) and send it back.

Unfortunately, the Gmail interface doesn't seem to have table editing capabilities: after I hit reply, I see the table in the quoted text of the original message, but is not editable...

If this is not possible in Gmail, how do I export the HTML source of this messsage and edit in another installed word processor?

For Google Docs tables, how can we make an incomplete cell have no bottom or top border (to show that it is incomplete on screen and on paper)?

When we use Google Docs and create a table, sometimes a cell can span across 2 pages. So for example, I can write a few lines (with Enter (line breaks)), and then, either on screen or on paper, the cell, even when it is not complete on that page, will have a bottom border, which is the default behavior of Google Docs.

So this can give a wrong impression on screen or on paper that the cell is actually complete, or an impression that on the next paper, that cell is a totally complete, or independent cell. The reader (or myself, after months later when I read the document myself) will have to "guess" whether the cell content is complete or not, or continued below.

Is there a way to make the bottom border not show (and the next page, the top border not show), when the cell spans across 2 pages?

Alternatively, instead of no border, it can be a dotted line border or a light grey border too, if there are ways to do it?
