I'm in a conversation and I don't really want to leave because the people there keep adding me back so it's just whatever. But I would like to mute the conversation or something like I do on Facebook so I won't take notifications or anything from there unless I press on the group and see what's going on. Because for now I have my Skype having a new notifications every half a second.
Any solutions to that?

Does Skype have a keyboard shortcut for switching among conversations?
I've searched the web and through Skype forums, and can't find anything. There's something under the Tools → Accessibility menu that is called "Extended Keyboard Navigation" – but what that does seems to be a mystery as well.

I have Skype 4.2.0.11 on Ubuntu 12.04
I have a recurring problem that a set of skype chats and missed calls keep reappearing as notifications when I startup skype, even though I delete them every time. There is no specific pattern to it that I can see, no specific user or time of day.
Short of clearing all my account history, is there a way I can fix this?

It's so long and complicated to open Paint/Photoshop/whatever and saving a file somewhere, then dragging it to Skype just send a screenshot to a friend through Skype! How can I speed up the process? Do I need an external app?

I am not sure, but months ago I installed Skype in Ubuntu and it automatically pulled chat history from the cloud which means it did.
However, lately my hard disk installed with Windows 7 broke. Now I am using my old backup HDD, which has Windows 7 and Skype already installed, but no matter how I try to retrieve chat history it couldn't?

I have my skype privacy settings defined to only allow IMs from people in my contact list. I also have this set for calls/video, etc. And yet, almost every morning when I boot up I have a conversation request from somebody I do not know. Shouldn't these settings block these requests? Is there a way to actually only allow IMs from people in my contact list in skype that works?

I noticed that Unicode characters suddenly stopped displaying in some applications, so far Notepad++ and Skype, when they were appearing previously. Instead they appear as boxes. They were working before, but I believe that it broke after a restart. I can even type them into the Skype input window and see them, but then after submitting the message they appear as boxes.
For example: 햇반 and 県 will not show up in either Skype or notepad++, but they do appear just fine in Chrome as I am typing this.
No new software was installed before or after the last restart, the only thing that happened were some Windows updates. The document in Notepad++ has the encoding set to UTF-8

Is it possible to export Skype v4 chat history into some readable plain-text format?

Alternatively, is it possible to backup/restore skype chat history?
(I wouldn't mind backup to Gmail, or to readable plain-text format).
I have found numerous tools on the internet and even tried some of them, but they don't seem to work.

Sometimes I send pieces of code using Skype. Very often the text is messed up with smileys, and some brackets show up doubled.
Can I somehow send text that will not be transformed? Something like <pre> in HTML.
