It's unlikely that I'll ever have more than 1GB of email. However, I do have more than 1GB of photos (Picasa) and more than 1GB of files (Google Docs). Is there any way to use the storage from Gmail in these other services? Or, to possibly answer my own question, is Google just marketing the available storage of Gmail by banking on the fact that nobody is going to use that much (whereas it would be much easier for people to fill up their Picasa accounts)?

I am looking for a way to migrate all of the photos from a Flickr account to a Picasa (soon to be Google Photos) account. I would prefer not to have to download all of the files to my local hard drive and then re-upload them.
Another question covered this same ground ( How do I transfer my photos from Flickr to Picasa? ) but the accepted solution is for Windows. I need a Mac solution.
Obviously I'd like to keep the meta data.

Photos of life events are getting uploaded instead of printed. There comes a time when you want to take those and actually print them. Does Picasa retain picture quality and resolution upon upload and download?
Facebook destroys photos by lowering their resolution and doesn't have a retrieval tool. I find Flickr quite slow.

I use face tags in picasa,and picasa allows me to choose people in my Gmail contacts.
Is there a way that I could get that person's icon in picasa to show as that same person's icon in my contacts?

I've used PicasaWeb's facial recognition tools to tag all the people in my pictures... now is there a way to search for pictures that contain specific groups of people?
Examples:
- Alice AND Bob
- Carl ONLY
- David NOT Edgar
- Frank OR George
(I know you can do the AND case using the checkboxes on the people tab)

In my Picasa Web library, a new directory "Auto backup" has appeared. It contains several albums (one per shooting time).
What is the difference between this and "Instant upload" (that still exists)?

How do Google Plus Photos, and Picasa relate to each other? Are they different names for the same thing? Or different interfaces to the same photo albums?
http://picasaweb.google.com/ looks quite different than https://plus.google.com/${my account id}/photos, but they show the same photo albums, thus the question.

I have a folder that I am deleting now to recover some space. The folder is synced to a Picasa Webalbums and the icon looks something like this (with a lot more pics):
Does synced mean that next time I run Picasa after deleting the folder, the pics would be deleted from the online storage too?
How can I keep the pics online but delete them from my disc?

I have been using a Flickr Pro account for a few years, but find it really annoying that I don't maintain a local offline record of my albums and metadata with this. So I've decided to move to Picasa - where I have an offline app to set up, edit and then upload photos and albums. The challenge is that I have around 100 albums in Flickr and want to get them across to Picasa.
- Do I need to use a Flickr downloader to put them all in a folder and then add them to Picasa?
- Is there a way I can match the uploaded files with the local files on my computer so I don't end up with a load of duplicates?
- Can I transfer the metadata (e.g. geolocation) across? If so, how?
Hope you can help because my only other method is to do it all manually!

I believe that my images from Google+ and from Picasa web album can both be found in either application. I can search for an album name or an image caption or a file name in Picasa web album. Can I do the same from Google+?
