Non existent files downloaded

Orangedox is showing new downloads of a file that has been deleted from Dropbox.

I don't understand how this occurs. Please explain.

Tracking file downloads from Dropbox

I was wondering if it is possible to track how many downloads were made from a file on my Dropbox.

I discovered the Orangedox app and it seems that it is possible to create a link and track these downloads.

My questions is: The only way to track the download is after creating this link in Orangedox, I mean, is not possible to track the downloads made previously to the creation of this link, is it? I would have to create the link through Orangedox and only after that, I can track the downloads, isn't it?

I have a software product that's ready to launch and it's totally free. I want to use Orangedox as my hosting service, but I've got two questions.

1. Can I know my overall download count even after one year, not monthly? Does the count reset for every month? (I'm sorry, I'm not very experienced in this.)

2. Does Orangedox (or Dropbox) terminate the link after a certain period of time? Can I keep the same link for several years?

How can I preview PDF files when clicking on a shared link?

I am new to Orangedox. I would like to share links of PDF files. I have tested a link that I shared to myself and want to try out the download option and preview option to see the count go up in Orangedox. The download option works just fine and the download count goes up. But I cannot find a way to preview the PDF file when using the shared link, and as such the preview count does not go up. It seems it should be possible to preview the PDF since there is a preview count symbol beside the file name (where as there is no preview count symbol beside a word document file).

How can I preview PDF files when clicking on a shared link? Thank you.

Track the number of actual downloads in Orangedox

I have a number of Microsoft Word templates that I share with my friends and I would like to know how many times the templates have been downloaded and not the number of times they have viewed them in their web browser. Clicking on a shared-link to a Word document lets the receiver view the document in the web browser and that shows up as a download in Orangedox, but I am only interested in how many times they have actually clicked on the download button and saved the file to their computer.

My question is if there is a way in Orangedox to only track the number of actual downloads of a file and not how many times they have actually clicked on the shared link (i.e. viewed the file through their web browser)?

Play count for mp3 share link by orangebox

I generate a shared link of an mp3 file. When I click on the link, it starts the download immediately. Can I stream/play the file in the browser and get the play count statistics instead?
