Word 2013 not changing footer size

I'm trying to make the space at the bottom of the page smaller so I can fit more text into it. I tried setting the footer and header to really small numbers but it doesn't seem to make a difference. What's going on?

Find and replace text inside equations in word 2013

Is there a way I can "find and replace" text inside equations?

e.g.: I need to replace all $\hat v$ by $v$.

Since MathJax doesn't work here: Replace a "v with a ^ on top" by a "v".

Microsoft word 2013 - if statement not working

I have a field code with a strange behavior. When I put the code,

{ IF NUMPAGES=NUMPAGES "A" "B" }

I get A as expected however, when I reverse this, ie

{ IF NUMPAGES<>NUMPAGES "A" "B" }

I still get A.

Why is this happening?

Add specific page of Visio diagram into Word document

I've got a Visio 2010 document that has multiple pages, with one workflow on each page. I'm trying to insert each of the workflows into a word 2013 document. I'm trying to do it as a direct link so I only need to update the Visio diagram to update the word doc as well.

However, whenever I try to link to the Visio document, it's only inserting the first page, and I cant' find any option to add any of the other pages.

Anyone know how I can insert any of the other pages in the Visio diagram into my Word doc?

Can I force Microsoft Word 2013 to only Undo 1 keystroke at a time?

In case there's a different solution for my use case, here are my reasons:

I often use Word for writing documents with lots of lists, and when I accidentally hit enter, instead of ctrl-enter, I want to be able to just hit ctrl-z and try it again.

Instead, half the time it will wipe out a bunch of text on the previous line - commonly, a whole sentence or more. So instead I have to hit backspace multiple times to remove the new bullet item, however many indents, and then the newline.

Word 2013 - Numbers for Referencing Review Comments

It appears Microsoft turned off auto-numbering of comments in Word 2013. So when going to Review in the ribbon and adding a "New Comment" there is no way to identify the comment when discussing with colleagues. In previous versions of word, adding a new comment included an auto-incremented comment number.

This is particularly problematic for example when a colleague is using an older version of office and refers to a comment by number - e.g. #5.

Is there any way to identify the comment numbers in Word 2013, so comments can be identified during discussions?

How do I ignore all spelling errors in a Word 2013 document?

In previous versions, the right-click pop-up on a misspelled word would allow me to ignore all spelling in that particular document. But it's not there anymore and I can find no reference to being able to do it, neither in the app nor online. Help?

How do I set up continuous paging in Word across different sections?

Background

In a document I'm preparing, I have the following sections:

  • Cover page, table of contents, introduction, etc. -- portrait orientation
  • The second section, some challenges -- landscape orientation due to space limitations
  • Third section, some recommendations -- portrait orientation again.

I use section breaks to accomplish the different page orientations.

Problem

While the section breaks work well for orientation, it looks like they throw off MS Word's Table of Contents, which starts over at page 0 for each section:

Table of contents, starting at zero for each section

Question

How can I get MS Word Table of Contents to ignore section breaks for the purposes of page numbering, so that I can have continuous numbering of my pages?

Convert Microsoft Word old Equations to new format in Word 2013

How can I convert the old Microsoft word equations (version 3) to the new format?

I have an old document file full of equations, and an automatic conversion solution rather than re-typing all equations will be a huge time-saver!

I also tried GrindEq,but word crahes after conversion!

Edit 1: I'm using Microsoft Office Pro Plus 2013 (64-bit) on Win 8.1

Edit 2: I also installed MathType. It supports lots of different formats to convert to, but I could not find Microsoft equation!
