I'm still new to Lotus, but I have LN 8.0.2, and have it set up to open hyperlinks "using the browser i have set as the default for this operating system" which in my case is Firefox 3.6.13. If I try to select "use the browser embedded in this client" then it just forgets it after I click save (ie if i go back into preferences it's reset to the default for this operating system option) Windows XP SP 3.
Whenever I click on a link in an email...memo... then it does nothing and flashes an underscore underneath it. It's so basic and so annoying there must be something I'm missing.

How do I mark mail as read in Lotus Notes without actually opening the email? Every other email client I have used has this option somewhere. I am using Lotus Notes 8. Thank you.

How do I make the out-of-office option visible in Lotus Notes?
It was usually available under the Tools drop down but now only Preferences is visible under this drop-down.

We just upgraded to Lotus/IBM Notes 9 "Social Edition" and there is this Discover tab (which is basically the product just advertising itself) which always opens on start up. Normally Lotus Notes will restore my tabs on startup, and it still does that, but it will always open this Discover page too. I'd rather it doesn't!

In Lotus Notes 8.5.1, I ended up declining a meeting due to a earlier, conflicting meeting. About an hour after I declined the second meeting, the first one was rescheduled. So, now I want to un-decline the second one. Is there any way to do that?

The Notes native client has an option to download all attachments to a folder.
I cannot found similiar on web based iNotes (8.5).

I have a rule set up in Lotus Notes to filter certain e-mails to a folder (Move to Folder). However, I can't figure out how to mark them as "Read" automatically. Is there a way to do this?

For some reason I am unable to add an automated signature to new memos in Lotus Notes R5. My colleagues who have the same version as me have different options on the menu bar, including "add signature" but I do not.
Is it possible that after an upgrade from R4 a while ago I'm running in some kind of compatibility mode?
Any pointers as to where I should look? I've been trying to crack this on and off for weeks :)

Similar but different to How to find full/real email address from Lotus Notes?
I want to display the full email address when someone sends me an email. Right now it only shows their display name (eg "John Smith") and cannot figure out how to get John's full email without looking him up in the company directory. Even if I click show details it still only shows his display name. Any way to do this?

I just started using Lotus Notes (normally I use Outlook) and I'm confused and bothered about something: the "sent" folder is some sort of 'view', and not an actual folder (unlike Outlook). I like to file away my sent messages into the same folders as my received messages so that I have them all together in one area. I can 'move' sent messages to folders, but they stay in the 'sent' view, which is infuriating because now I have no idea if I've filed them all away or not.
What can I do to make a sent email appear in a given folder but NOT in the sent view?

How can I minimize Lotus Notes 8.5 to the system tray just like Microsoft Outlook does?
I've seen some advices that say I should install some utility that does it, is that the only way? no IBM add-on?

I am working at a client where Lotus Notes is used. How do I synchronize the Notes calendar (Lotus Notes 7) with Google Calendar or directly with my iPhone 3GS?
I don't need to synchronize the emails, the calendar entries and tasks are sufficient.
I searched for solutions but couldn't find any proper ones. Preferably, the synchronization would be automatic on a regular basis but it's also OK if I have to trigger it manually. Please do not suggest solutions involving Outlook since I cannot install that here.
