Can Bluetooth headphones (Jabra BT 8010) be used as PC microphone

Bluetooth Headset drivers on Windows 7

I have a Dell Precision with integrated bluetooth from work. I wanted to connect either one of my two bluetooth headsets (Plantronics UC Voyager Pro v2 and Sennheiser MM450X) in order to make calls with it using our Cisco IP Communicator.

In both cases, the bluetooth pairs ok. Then Windows tries to install drivers, and fails, leaving the device useless. The devices work perfectly with my phone and tablet (both android).

What can I do to get it to work? I can't seem to find drivers on either the Plantronics or the Sennheiser site. I am using the Plantronics without the USB dongle they provide, because that is temporarily misplaced :).

Does a USB Headset require any Specific Soundcard?

I was going to buy a cheap USB Headset for skyping, and was suggested the Logitech H330 USB Headset.

Before buying the headset, I was checking the reviews, and on Amazon, someone has mentioned that your sound card should support usb headsets. Is this True? Or does the OS directly pass on the sound to the headset without a sound card in between?

I have win 7 Home premium, 32 bit, if it makes any difference.

How can I get a headset's microphone to work on a laptop's combo audio jack?

I have an Asus laptop (K42JP to be more specific), running Windows 7, that has a combo audio/microphone 3.5mm jack. When I connect either the iPhone's headset or a Nokia headset, I get a pop-up asking the kind of "device" (headphone or microphone). However, no matter which option I pick the headset's microphone never seems to work. Also, in the "Recording" tab of the Sound properties (in the Control Panel) it only shows the laptop's internal microphone.

Both headsets work perfectly when I connect them to a MacBook Pro, so I think it's safe to assume that they are in working order.

How to switch easily between a 5.1 headset and 2.1 speakers?

I have a 5.1 headset that I mostly use for gaming and watching movies. It is connected using 3 jacks to the rear panel of my motherboard (plus one for the microphone). I also have some small 2.1 speakers that I sometimes use to listen to music or to share a video/movie with someone.

For now, what I do is crawl under my desk, and switch the cables. As my motherboard has 7.1 capabilities, I am wondering if there could be a way of having all 4 jack cables always plugged in, and switching on which device to output the sound programmatically.

Has anybody had a similar problem, and how did you solve it ?

Turning on lamp pauses sound in my headset

I have my headset connected to my PC with USB. When I turn on my lamp on my table (fluorescent) the music from my headset pauses for about a second while the lamp powers up. Then it's back to normal. The lamp is connected to the same power outlet as the computer.

Two times I even had to plug my headset in and out again because Windows "couldn't recognize it".

I reckon this has something to do with voltage? :s No idea what's going on. Would appreciate if someone could explain to me what's going on. I'm happy to share more information if that's needed to understand what could be wrong.

Will a USB headset still work if the sound card in the PC has been disabled

I heard that if I use a headset on a system without a sound card or a disabled sound card it will still work. Meaning that I can hear sound and speak to users through a VoIP service such as Skype.

Is this true? Or did I mis-interpret wrongly?

Settings to use only Mic from a USB headset/mic combo, but not the speakers?

I have a USB headset/Mic combo device connected to my laptop(Vista Home edition). The laptop frontpanel has microphone input and speaker output.

While doing a skype call, I would like to use ,my USB microphone as audio input device instead of the Laptop mic & the Laptop speakers as audio output device instead of the USB headset speakers.

How can I get this setting done under Vista?

thank you.

Why a bluetooth headset for mobile phones doesn't work on a PC?

Why a bluetooth headset like this one, which works well on a cell phone, doesn't work on a computer?

I can pair the headset with my laptop with no problems. And it's even recognized as an audio device in the list of bluetooth devices. However the device doesn't show up as an audio device in Windows' control panel.

I've tried with different PCs. Several laptop and desktop computers, with different version of Windows and each time the same thing happens.

Why can't we listen to audio using bluetooth head set

While this is perfectly OK while I take calls using my bluetooth headset , why can't we listen to audio using my bluetooth Headset ?

Does the headset software internally built to function only for calls? Can't we make an custom music player which can pair with bluetooth and play the music ?

Bought a new headset. Headphones work, mic does not

My steelseries siberia v2 headset arrived today. I plugged the headphones and mic into my ASUS VH236H monitor which is connected to my PC via HDMI. The headphones receive sound just fine, but the mic does not work. I know it isn't a hardware problem on behalf of the headset because it's brand new and nothing has changed in my audio control panel. Here's a screenshot of my audio control panel currently: http://i.imgur.com/f9RjHV3.png

On page 15 (of the pdf, not the manual itself) of the manual to my monitor you can see the ports it has: http://content.etilize.com/User-Manual/1015465059.pdf

My headphones are plugged into 6 and my mic is plugged into 5.

My motherboard is a Gigabyte X58A-UD3R.

USB headset doesn't work unless I restart. Why?

I have a Plantronics USB headset plugged into a ThinkPad running Windows 7. Every once in a while - in particular after my computer awakes from Sleep Mode - my USB headset stops working. In fact, all audio on my computer stops working -- nothing comes out of the computer speakers even when I unplug, and even my standard 1/8" audio headset does not work. Still, when I plug in or pull out the USB headset, the computer recognizes it (the volume bar pops up onscreen).

I suspect the problem has something to do with my soundcard or driver (which is updated), but I'm not sure what the solution is.

How can I fix this problem so I can listen to music without restarting?

How do I get audio to auto switch between devices? [duplicate]

Changing default playback device on Windows 8

Whenever I'm watching something on Chrome or playing a game and decided to plug a headset in or unplug it and go to speakers, I have to close the program and open it again.

I just want it to auto switch because some programs do it but others don't and Chrome used to do it for me on Windows 7 but it doesn't on Windows 8. It gets really annoying and I was wondering if there was a setting anywhere for it?
