Is it possible with Google searches to ban any and all results from a domain? [closed]

Is it possible to configure Google somehow to permanently ban search results from domains that I know 100% are never, ever going to make me happy? Something cookie/session based maybe?

E.g. I want to ban (permanently, forever and always) results from experts-exchange.com. Every time I click results that take me to their page I just want to scream.

Update! Google has released a Chrome Extension to allow users to block individual site from Google search results! Personal Blocklist (by Google). (Since this question has been closed, I cannot answer it.)

Chrome search bar automatically uses old search terms

I have a problem with my google chrome: When I try to search for a term which starts with a string that I previously searched for, that old search term is automatically used. So, assuming I searched for "foo fighters" last week and today I want to search for "foo", when I press Ctrl-L, type "foo" then my search will be "foo fighters" instead of "foo". Is there a way to disable this behavior?

Get more than 10 results when searching from Google Chrome address bar

I usually set the search results for Google to 100; 10 is way too small for my usage.

However, when searching through the address bar of Google Chrome, it always shows 10 results, regardless of my settings. If I go to http://google.com/ first and search the same thing, it displays 100 results.

Why is this happening, and how can I get my 100 results even when searching from the Google Chrome address bar?

what's the whole point of the query/Ctrl-E in Chrome

In Chrome, If i type anything in the omnibar, it will search google for whatever I have typed.

If i do a query (Ctrl-E, which basically inserts a question mark at the start of the omnibar and seems like that's all it does) and type anything in the omnibar after the query, it will search google for whatever I've typed.

so what's the difference at all? (in other words what's the whole point of the query/Ctrl-E)

Full URL of PDF in Google search results

When I click a PDF link in Google search, in the Google Chromium web browser, it does not display the URL of the PDF in the address bar - it just downloads the PDF.

Often, the green URL displayed below the result in Google Search is truncated in the middle (middle characters are replaced with an ellipsis) for space reasons.

Right-clicking on the main blue link in the Google search result and choosing Copy Link Address results in a Google tracking URL, not the actual URL.

How can I get the full URL?

Firefox search engine for local google (.com.au)

Is there a way to make my Firefox 3.5 "Google" search engine use google.com.au rather than google.com?

Ideally I'd like that change Ubiquity to do that as well.

How do I tab through search results in Safari?

In Chrome, after a Google search, it is possible to press Tab to cycle through the search results. Then you can press Enter to select and open that link.

Is possible to do the same on Safari 6? After I searched something in the "omnibar", pressing Tab does not on cycle search results, and instead passed focus through many other elements. How do I get Tab to act like it does in Chrome?

Why is Google so much faster than a hard-drive search?

When I search a file on my HD in Windows 7 or Windows XP it takes some minutes to finish the process. If I fill in a search term in Google, the answer is on my screen in milliseconds

How is it possible for Google to search the Internet, which is many times larger than my hard drive, faster than my OS can search my computer? Is it only a matter of computing power and the right algorithm?

Tab + Enter no longer taking me to first Google search result in Chrome

As the title says; I used to be able to press Tab+Enter in Chrome to take me to the first search result. This now only works if I am not signed in to my Google account. When signed in, I can't do it. It works fine (signed in and not) on Firefox.

I believe this may have stopped working since a system update.

I'm using:

  • Ubuntu 12.10
  • Chrome 23.0.1271.64

Is this to do with a setting within Google, or is it something within Chrome? Because it works in Firefox, it suggests it is a Chrome problem. I tried disabling all extensions, but no joy.

Use Google Search as Google Chrome's spell checker

I think that the Google Chrome spell checker is terrible. I know that Google (the search engine) has a superb spell checker for users who submit queries into its search engine.

Is there any way to run misspelled words through Google.com and have the list of possible alternatives be the search suggestions?

Are there other web dictionaries I could use instead of the default for Google Chrome?

How can I fix the default search engine in Chromium on Linux Mint 11?

Lame. Linux Mint comes with some pretty nasty defaults as far as setting the default search engine go. How can I set it to Google proper? Can someone copy and paste the URL to use which is working for them?

Google Chrome Tab Search is Not Working

So, I just bought a new laptop, installed Google Chrome, and discovered to my dismay that when I try to do what I normally do to perform a search, Google Chrome is acting wonky.

To normally search on every other computer I use, I start typing google in the adress bar, when I get to goo (usually), I'll hit TAB to enter "site search mode". Chrome is being a jerk and trying to take me to a page that is in my history.

I've tried clearing my history to see if that would fix it, but it still won't seem to work.

So, what can I do to make "search in site" work for Google (when it works by default for every other installation of Chrome)?

Chrome popup: "It looks like you've moved... "

Not sure what happened over the weekend, but since this morning everytime I use google I get a popup from Chrome saying "It looks like you've moved. Would you like to use http://www.google.com/ ?" (as opposed to my usual google.nl).

What does this mean, and how do I disable the popup? Clicking No or the close button didn't solve it, and I don't want to click Yes because I like my Google localized.
