Download all folders from a shared Google Drive folder

Is it possible to download all folders from a shared Google Drive folder? I don't want people to have to download > 300 files individually. I am sending this to people that don't have Google accounts, so they can't just press the blue Google Drive button I assume.

How do I save a pdf file to Google Drive?

If I have opened a PDF file in Chrome with its plug-in Chrome PDF viewer, how can I save it to Google Drive directly instead of downloading it first and uploading it? Is there an extension that could do this?

Change user associated with Google Drive account (OSX) when old account does not exist

I've got Google Drive installed on Mac OSX 10.8.4 -- I no longer work and company X and want to associate Google Drive with company Y account.

I no longer have access to the old account so I can't go through the normal process of signing in and deactivating the account. I have tried deleting and uninstalling and still am being asked to sign in as the old user.

What did I miss? Where does Google Drive store the association with the old account?

How to synchronize directories outside the Google Drive directory

I installed Google Drive and want to use it in order to backup some data scattered across my HDD.

I cannot get it to use these different directories because I can set only one folder in Google apps. I tried to create junctions and hard links to the outer directories, however it does not work ... any ideas how to correctly set it?

Why is Google Drive so heavy on my CPU?

As the below screenshot shows, despite the fact that Google drive doesn't appear to be doing anything (it's not syncing any data) it's using over 12% of my CPU (a core i7).

Google Drive CPU

The official documentation states:

Depending on your network connection and computer preferences, Google Drive may consume a large amount of CPU to complete its initial sync.

However it has been installed for over a month now and doesn't have anything new to sync. Why, then, does it use so much of my CPU?

Compiling LaTeX document makes Google Drive crash

I've the issue that when I compile a LaTeX document that is located inside my Google Drive this will after a few turns make the OSX Google Drive application crash.

As this is an important document I want to keep it all the time inside the Google Drive location to ensure cloud backup but this ofcourse is not guaranteed if this makes my Google Drive crash all the time.

I don't seem te be able to identify what is causing this and I was hoping that maybe some people here have any idea what might cause this? We're talking about a 8 pages document with 3 images, so nothing crazy big or complex.

/edit. to complete the picture this is the error google drive gives:

An unknown issue occurred and Google Drive needs to quite. Error: PRIMARY KEY must be unique

With the suggesting if this happens often you should try to disconnect your account.

Opening .pdf's on Google Drive using Adobe Acrobat

Note: this is a question about Google Drive, not Firefox options.

I've been using Google Drive and Docs a lot, so I tend to keep .PDFs on Drive as well just for convenient storage.

But I don't like reading .PDFs using Google's viewer. I'd prefer Adobe Acrobat.

I have Firefox set to use the Adobe Acrobat plugin, which works fine for browsing the internet. But when I open a .PDF which I've previously saved to Google Drive, the browser uses Google Docs' viewer, even though I'm not converting the .PDFs to Docs' format when I download them.

I've tried to find a Drive-compatible Google Apps version of Acrobat but there doesn't seem to be one. And the "File" menu "Open With" in Google Viewer gives me only one option (Google Docs).

Anyone know the answer? Thanks.

Which is the best and simplest Windows Subversion client I can install to get the Google Client Library for PHP?

My operating system is Windows 7.

The google-api-php-client is made available on GitHub, and can be downloaded with Subversion.

The documentation provides the exact command line command to download the google-api-php-client files,

svn checkout http://google-api-php-client.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ google-api-php-client

So that’s no problem. But—as shown on this official Subversion download page—there are different sources for downloading Subversion, and it seems like there are different versions of Subversion with different features.

All I need to do, is run that Subversion command once, and I’ll probably never use Subersion again. Or, maybe I’ll use Subversion once a year. I need the easiest and simplest installation of Subversion that I can get. In order to figure that out, I could download every offer from every provider of Subversion, install every one, and compare them all, but I’d rather not do that.

What’s the easiest way to install Subversion and run that one line of code just one time?

Portable Dropbox/Google Drive

I am planning to buy a new external harddisk, which will hold my project files using XAMPP Portable, my contacts, documents etc, as this thing is dealing with sensitive data, and I cannot rely on a single backup, I thought to sync with Dropbox/Google Drive, but I don't see any way to install these apps on an external drive.

I searched on Google but didn't found any help related to this, is there anyway I can make Dropbox/Google Drive portable?

As commented, I don't want the backups to be manual, as soon as I attach the drive with the PC, I want something that will be installed on my external drive, and as soon as I execute the application from that drive, it should sync the folders assigned to be synced with the cloud storage service. Because I can use this drive on any machine.

How does the desktop application of Google Drive work?

I've seen all the demo videos on how google drive works but some things still don't make sense:

  1. I downloaded the app and the folder appears on my computer. Does it sync everything automatically or only things I drag in it? (So if I want to sync my whole 1GB Documents Folder, I drag (move, make shortcut, copy?) that folder in there? If I move it, the folder is no longer in my main directory, which I don't think is how it's supposed to work.

  2. If I add something to my Google Drive, it's downloaded onto my computer as well. So my 1GB folder is duplicated twice, one on my computer, one in the drives folder. (Isn't it supposed to be stored on Google's servers?)

  3. What's the point of the downloaded Google Drive app as compared to just using the web interface? The differences I see are: "Easier to drag and drop", "Duplicate data". Are these the only ones or do they serve different functions?

I'm still sort of confused, any explanations would be helpful, thanks

TrueCrypt container in Google Drive

I have a TrueCrypt file container in the Google Drive folder. I add stuff into it, make sure TrueCrypt changed the timestamp of the container. Google Drive syncs with the server, but it seems it transfers the whole file instead of the bit which is changed in the TrueCrypt container.

Would you know how to make it only sync the changed bit of the container instead of 5GB every time?

Sync Google Drive when not logged in

I have installed Google Drive on Windows Server 2008 R2. When I login to the server, Google Drive starts automatically and synchrnoizes files, pulling changes down from the cloud. All good so far.

However, I would like the sync to run even if I am not logged in. Is there any way to start the sync process automatically, maybe as a scheduled task?

I have other jobs on the server which distribute the files by FTP so I would like the server copies of the files to be up to date.
