Gmail archived emails

I have tried the all mail option but my emails are not there. I have lost very important messages thinking I was putting them in a safe place but not.

How can I recover the messages?

Converting a GMail Label Mailbox to a Set of PDFs

I do have a rather large task to do: I need to convert a folder in my gmail with lots of tagged messages either as a large PDF (which Adobe Acrobat does on Outlook - Except the latter crashes while loading this mailbox) or as a individual PDF (which I plan to link on a Wiki Database)

While it doesn't fully need to be in PDF (as long as I can, say, outsource to someone else to convert each .eml file as a .pdf file), I need to have them split so I can cross-reference them on a Wiki.

What would you suggest to accomplish this task?

Search for archived mail by the day it was archived

Can I search for an email that I know was archived on a specific date? In other words, Sunday, 1/19/2014 I archived something by mistake (phone wasn't locked, finger hit archive without me even seeing the email, otherwise I would do a search). But I have no idea when the original email was sent to me.

Only reason I even know something was archived is because when I pulled iPhone 5 from pocket it thought I was shaking it--unfortunately I didn't choose "undo archive".

Can I archive only certain messages within a conversation?

I have a long conversation with many recipients (I'm organising an event), in amongst the replies I have 3 or 4 mail delivery failed messages, which I'd like to Archive (so that they're not messing up the conversation) but don't want to delete (as I want to refer to them later, to figure out who's addresses are bouncing).

PS I've found a similar question about marking-as-read, but I can't see anything quite like this

How to mark as unread just one message and not the entire conversation in Gmail

Single button for Gmail to "not spam" and "archive"

I find I get quite a lot of legitimate mailing list emails in my spam folder. Usually, by the time I've opened them and determined that they aren't spam, I'm done with them.

I like to mark them as "not spam", but that sends them into the middle of my inbox as read messages. Is there any way to simultaneously archive at the same time?

Filtering archived messages in Gmail

I've done a lot of searching and experimenting with this and can't make it work. Basically I, like most, get a lot of email that isn't spam but isn't interesting. I read the first line preview and then archive it with a swipe on my iPhone.

This causes an annoyance because the phone archives it without marking it as read, meaning when I use the web app or my mail app, I get numbers beside various labels.

If I search Gmail with the following filter:

-label:inbox -label:trash -label:sent -label:spam

then it pretty much just selects messages I've sent to archive. However if I then try to create a filter with that, Gmail changes it to

label:spam

every single damn time. All I want is to select only archived messages with a filter, and mark them as read.

Anyone have any idea how to get around this? There must be a way.

Thanks in advance.

Gmail inbox, all messages archived by mistake

I woke up this morning to an empty Gmail inbox, all of the messages (about 90 or so) were archived except for a few emails that came in overnight. Is there a way to restore the state of my inbox as of a certain time to restore all the messages? I know the messages aren't lost and appear in my "all mail" section, but the messages I kept in my inbox were pending issues I had to deal with, and are hard to find when looking through my "all mail" section which has thousands and thousands of emails, I can't remember which 90 were still pending issues.

For what it's worth, I don't know how all the messages were archived, I checked my recent logins and security settings and everything was normal, and the only apps that have access to my inbox are the iPhone mail app and Gmail for iPhone, both of which probably didn't auto-archive all my mail.

How can I transfer emails from Outlook to Gmail?

Can gmail's archive feature save storage?

If we archive a mail in gmail, is storage saved?
I mean, is the file compressed well?

Gmail can search in archived mail. If it was really compressed, the searching was very hard job. But they can. So I'm very curious about what gmail's archive mean.

Missing Gmail archive button

There is no archive button when I open Gmail. How can I create an archive and move old emails?

I tried moving old emails to an archive using the in: and before: but the archive either was not created or the emails did not transfer. They are still in my inbox.
