I have my project on GitHub at some location, git@github.com:myname/oldrep.git.
Now I want to push all my code to a new repository at some other location, git@github.com:newname/newrep.git.
I used the command:
git remote add origin git@github.com:myname/oldrep.git
but I am receiving this:
fatal: remote origin already exists.

I recently switched to syncing my repos to https:// in github (due to firewall issues) and it asks for a password every time. It used to be that I had an ssh cert and it was enough. Is there a way to bypass password in my case (using http/https)?

I cloned a git repository from my Github account to my PC.
I want to work with both my PC and laptop, but with one Github account.
When I try to push to or pull from Github using my PC, it requires username and password, but not when using the laptop!
I don't want to type my username and password every time I interact with origin.
What I am missing here?

I'm sort of new to bundler and the files it generates. I have a copy of a git repo from github that is being contributed to by many people so I was surprised to find that bundler created a file that didn't exist in the repo and wasn't in the .gitignore list.
Since I have forked it, I know adding it to the repo won't break anything for the main repo, but if I do a pull request, will it cause a problem?
Should Gemfile.lock be included in the repository?

I was able to clone a copy of this repo over HTTPS authenticated. I've made some commits and want to push back out to the GitHub server. Using Cygwin on Windows 7 x64.

How can I download only a specific folder or directory from a remote Git repo hosted on GitHub?
Say the example GitHub repo lives here:
git@github.com:foobar/Test.git
Its directory structure:

I want to download only the foo folder and not clone the whole Test project.

I want to delete a branch both locally and on my remote project fork on GitHub.
Successfully Deleted Local Branch
$ git branch -D bugfix
Deleted branch bugfix (was 2a14ef7).
Note: The uppercase -D option is a shortcut for --delete --force. If you want to delete a local branch that must be fully merged in its upstream branch, use -d which is a shortcut for --delete.
Failed Attempts to Delete Remote Branch
$ git branch -d remotes/origin/bugfix
error: branch 'remotes/origin/bugfix' not found.
$ git branch -d origin/bugfix
error: branch 'origin/bugfix' not found.

I recently forked a project and applied several fixes. I then created a pull request which was then accepted.
A few days later another change was made by another contributor. So my fork doesn't contain that change... How can I get that change into my fork?
Do I need to delete and re-create my fork when I have further changes to contribute? Or is there an update button?

I'm not sure, but I have a vague memory of creating a github pull request with "Issue 4" or something in the title, and it automatically attached itself to Issue 4 in the project that I was submitting it to. I tried it again recently and it didn't work -- it just created a brand new issue instead. I don't see any options like "Attach to issue" on the new pull request page, nor "Open a new pull request for this issue" on the issue page. Is there any way to do this, to help project owners keep their Issues page clean and avoid duplication?
Edit: To clarify, I know that creating a pull request always creates a new issue. I would like to instead attach the pull request to an existing issue.

I need to include some images in my README File. I don't know how to do that.
I searched about this, but all I got was some links which tell me to "host images on web and specify the image path in README.md file".
Is there any way to do this without hosting the images on web?
