Facebook join date is hidden from timeline but still visible to public

I have already hidden the "Facebook join date" from my timeline (by hovering over it, selecting edit or remove (the pencil) and then Hide it from timeline). Right now, I cannot see this date if I go to my timeline and scroll down to the beginning. That makes sense. However, when I view my profile as public (by clicking the blue downward arrow just beside the Activity Log and then selecting "view as"), this "Facebook joining date" is still visible to everyone.

Is that a bug? If not, how can I hide or delete it?

How to make my Facebook profile picture private for non-friends?

I've set my profile picture only available for Friends.

Facebook: Who should see this? Friends

However it's still visible for the public.

Non-authenticated users can see the profile thumbnail and authenticated (non-friends) can still click and see the full picture.

I've already activated option 'Limit Past Posts' in Privacy, but it didn't solve the problem.

How to hide my profile and activities in Facebook from a user who has already hid his profile and activities from me?

A user has done something to his/her profile so that I am not able to find him/her on Facebook.

On the other hand, he/she is able to see my activities.

For example, he/she posted a message on somebody else's wall. Then I posted some comments on the message. Now my friends can see the message along with the comments I posted. But I can neither see the message and nor my comments.

Now, how can I hide myself from that particular user?

If I can't even find him/her, how can I block him/her?

How do I set up Facebook "ask for..." privacy setting?

When I look at a friend's About page on Facebook, under "email" I almost always see a link that says "Ask for 's email". Likewise for a lot of other fields on that page.

How do I set it up so that it works like that for my email address as well? When editing that information, I can see options to show it to all my friends or none of my friends and things like that, but I can't see an option to turn on this "ask for" feature.

How can I see my Restricted friends list on Facebook?

Each time I post, it comes up with "friends except restricted". I have no "restricted" list on the left hand side of the screen where lists appear.

I did have a restricted list ages ago but now I cannot find it.

How can you check profiles you have visited, photos you have seen etc in your Facebook account?

I know a certain person has access to my Facebook account.

What now came to my knowledge is that this person can somehow know even the profiles I have visited, and the photos I have looked at, and the time I did it.

I am not a Facebook pro, actually I don't even like it that much, but it bothers me to know that someone can know all that from my profile.

So, how do I do it? How do I check this information?

Are some profiles on Facebook un-blockable?

Facebook habitually recommends some names totally out of the blue as "You may know". My stock response is to view that profile, and if it sets my spidey sense tingling - block. Recently I moved to block a couple of such recommendation under the "You may know".

A few of these could not be blocked. After the confirmation dialog - there was no further action to redirect to the Blocking page. The Blocking page too does not mention these profiles.

These so-called unblockables appear to differ from the blockables in two ways

- URL carries id as a numeric value instead of alphanumeric string
- URL ends with a "&fref=pymk" *this may be an acronym for "People you may know"*

For instance, this profile and this could not be blocked

EDIT Following up on the posted answer below - these particular profiles appear apparently unblockable even using the Settings->Block Users. An error message dialog comes up with the string "Something's gone wrong. We're working to get it fixed as soon as we can." UNEDIT

  • Why am I unable to block all random profiles recommended by Facebook?
  • Are some profiles on Facebook un-blockable?

In Facebook, how to restrict my own posts in a group only visible to the group members?

In Facebook, how can I restrict my own posts in a group to only be visible to the group members? In other words, I don't like the posts that are only relevant to the members of that group being visible to my friends who are not in that group.
