Auto-reminder for 3 people

Need to set an auto-reminder once daily for 3 people.

Seems like a simple task. But Microsoft Outlook needs to be running in order to do it. Also, I seem to run into roadblocks doing it with a lot of online services because of issues preventing spam.

What is a good way to make this happen?

How can I get GMail to make the default address I'm sending an email from be the same as the To address in a reply?

I have two email addresses that I use with GMail, let's call them personal@gmail.com and me@mycompany.com, the latter is integrated with SMTP and POP. When I want to send an email I can choose which email address I want to send from. Now let's say I receive an email to me@mycompany.com when I reply I want that reply to come from me@mycompany.com not personal@gmail.com, yet it always defaults to the @gmail.com address. Is there any way to make it default to be from the "To" address in a reply?

How to use Gmail as a repeater

I am trialing "Google apps for your domain". I would like to use one address as a repeater for a club.

Forwarding only seems to work for 1 address.

But it looks like a rule will work.

Is it right that Gmail will only do this for verified addresses. Is there another way to do this?

Can I easily search for starred / flagged messages across all folders in Yahoo Mail?

I am trying to find functionality in Yahoo Mail which is similar to what Gmail and Outlook allow for "starred" or "flagged" messages.

I would like to be able to star / flag a message, and then easily find all of my flagged messages, no matter what folder they are in - Inbox, a custom subfolder, Sent - either by setting up a smart search folder that lists all of the flagged message, or by typing an easy search query into the search box.

Is there any way to do this in Yahoo Mail?

EU Gmail substitute [closed]

I want a web-based e-mail service which

  1. displays e-mails sorted by conversation;

  2. can import e-mails from POP3 accounts;

  3. can send e-mails from other accounts (either by faking the From header or by logging into that account's SMTP server);

  4. is hosted in a location which is subject to the EU Data Protection Act;

  5. is not subject to the US PATRIOT Act (hence, not run by an EU subsidiary of a US companay);

  6. provides a large amount of storage space.

I do have a shared hosting account in the UK, so if there's any FOSS software I could install there, that'd be good, but I'm mainly looking for a service provider to handle it for me.

Can Gmail auto track replies of emails when conversation view is turned off?

I know Gmail for some time now allows conversation view to be turned off, thereby ungrouping the emails.

However, when doing so, any email replied to leaves no marker at all (as best I can tell), that the email was replied to. One can search in the "Sent Mail" to see something was sent, but when viewing the email itself (Note: I use the "Preview pane" from the Labs tab to view it), I do not see anything after I have replied:

  1. letting me know I have replied and
  2. linking the email to that reply.

I am hoping there is some other setting to do that. Otherwise, this seems to be a serious design flaw in the implementation of the ungroup conversation view setting. Ungrouping by subject is one thing, ungrouping to the point of not associating actual replies to the initial emails is overboard!

NOTE: I realize turning conversation view "on" associates the replies to the emails. My question concerns how they are/can be associated when turned off. I do not want emails with the same subject line grouped (hence why the view is off), but I do want to know which emails I've replied and what that reply is based on looking at the original email.

How do you specify 'Importance' for a message when sending to an Exchange/Outlook user from Gmail?

As per the image, Outlook users can specify the importance of an email message when sending to other Outlook users.

This might specifically be for Exchange/Outlook users, I am unsure.

Using Gmail to send a message to an Outlook user (or even another Gmail user) can you specify the importance flag?

If so, how?

Using an email adress with two different names in Gmail? (as two aliases) [duplicate]

I've setup GMail to use my own email address, like 'info@mycompany.com'.

When using this address as from-address, sometimes I want it to prefix with my personal name, and sometimes my company name.

I mean the possibility to use either:
John Doe <info@mycompany.com>
or
Acme Inc <info@mycompany.com>

Same from-address, but prefixed with a different name.

However, if I add one (in Accounts and Imports) and then add the other, it says: address already exists. Yes, that's right, but I want to use the same address with different names.

How do I go about this? Or is this impossible in Gmail?

How did an eBay user add my email address to his account details?

On Gmail, I'm jharrop@gmail.com

Some other guy with an account on eBay has a registered email address there of j.harrop@gmail.com (note the full stop).

Gmail is sending his email to me. So maybe nobody is answering the stream of questions about what I am sure is a very nice drum kit.

The answer at How to deal with people sending email incorrectly to my GMail account? confirms gmail doesn't differentiate between jharrop and j.harrop.

I assume ebay requires users to verify their address when they register. So I guess what has happened here is that the user subsequently changed his email address in eBay, and there is nothing there to require him to verify the change?

EDIT

In eBay, the "Update your email address" dialog has a confirmation step:

Just one more step!
We have sent an email to your address ...
In the email message from us, click the "Confirm Email" link to confirm your email change.

and the address does not seem to change until you go through the confirm step.

So how did this guy manage to give eBay my gmail address?

How to send a @mydomain email from Gmail, without paying (Google Apps)

I want to be able to receive email from a few xxx@mydomain email accounts and also send email from those addresses for free (or very, very cheap - 40$/year per user is too much).

To receive my email in Gmail, I thought of just using a free email forwarding service from a DNS registrar offer. Something like:

mail_1@mydomain.com -> forward to freemail_1@gmail.com

mail_2@mydomain.com -> forward to freemail_2@gmail.com

Easy. Now, how can I send emails from mail_1@mydomain.com (without any "behalf")?

How do I disconnect my hotmail account from my gmail account?

I have separate hotmail and gmail accounts. A friend has been emailing me from his gmail account, to my hotmail account and he has been able to view my gmail account and gmail acc photo. Although my hotmail account doesn't have an image uploaded, he can see the photo connected to my gmail account when we exchange emails, and my name comes up as it is on gmail. I have looked through all options on both accounts - but haven't found any mention of either email addresses on both. I can't remember if I linked the account somehow from gmail, as I have had hotmail for a very long time and gmail only perhaps for a year or 2. I have tried to disconnect them, as I don't want any links to other accounts from my hotmail account and those who email me there.

From hotmail, I have already tried 'manage other accounts' and 'remove alias' but there are no other email accounts connected to my hotmail account. I cannot locate any reference to my gmail account in any field on outlook. Really annoying, as obviously gmail is connected somehow to my hotmail, but I cannot see how.

How can I set Gmail to auto respond to all emails?

I've created a canned response. How can I use the filtration system for auto response in Gmail to reply to ALL incoming?

Granted, I would only care for the auto response to be sent only to humans. I just figure it's easier to just target all instead of being able to target the very broad majority with a trillion of filters.

Any tips or tricks?
