I have started using Trello.com for task management, but I really want to be able to customize the colors on different boards.

Google Calendar has the option of being customized by enabling features under the "Labs" setting. I would like to make my own customizations similar to these Lab features. Is this possible?

Whenever I open a document in Google Docs for editing, I push Shift + Ctrl + F to set the mode to Compact Controls. I find this view simply superior, to the standard view, so I would like to make it my default view. Is that possible? I would be happy to use a plugin in either Firefox or Chrome.

I'm about to send out "save the date" announcements for my wedding soon, and wanted to include a link to a our wedding page hosted on a popular planning site, theknot.com. The link options they gave us stink, so I setup a custom bit.ly URL, but I couldn't find any information about if (or when) the customized URL's expire (I know the standard shortened URL's don't expire).
Do they expire?

Is it possible to upload background images for specific Google Calendar events? It seems that Google is showing this on their latest Google Calendar Android app, but is it possible to do this just in Google’s standard web app (i.e., cal.google.com)?

On the left hand column of GMail I see my mailbox. Below the list of all my mailboxes, I get a section for "Chat" which lists my recent contacts, and below that, a section for "Invite a Friend".
I'd like to eliminate these. I can press '-' button to collapse them, but they remain visible and I think they reappear uncollapsed the next time you return to GMail.
Is there a way to permanently delete these items, which I do not want to use, and do not want cluttering up my interface to GMail?

I rather not see these posts, because when a friend likes something, this isn't as strong enough as them sharing it. In fact, if they don't share it on purpose, I take it to mean that they don't intend to share it. I suppose they don't like it enough to share it. I'd rather see messages they actually type in, photos they take, and links they share. And nothing more.
Is it possible to selectively hide these posts?
I use Firefox, but could switch to Chrome if there is a Chrome-only solution.

Google Spreadsheets give us a tool to create and use a customized data format for date values.
While the tool allows us to use arbitrary characters, like slashes and commas between the date fields (day, month, day of week...), I fail to see how to add a line break to my custom date format, what would allow me see dates like this:

Can this format be achieved with the existing tool? Is there a new-line character? Or will I have to use custom functions for that?

These days I'm getting so many spam emails, so I go to "filter message like this" -> From "sender's id" ->next step -> "Also apply filter to n conversations below" -> create filter.
Above process seems like a waste of time, since it's a general pattern to follow for such mails.
So I was wondering if there is any keyboard shortcut, but it appears there isn't (correct me if I am wrong). So what do you people do in similar situation (to repeat same filtering mechanism) to speed up your access?
