I'd like to free up some storage space and delete attachments from most/all the messages in my Gmail. I've long since downloaded and used any attachments I need or care to keep. How can I delete attachments from Gmail, but keep the messages?
I've read this and this, but the first is a little old, and the second is too manual. (I have thousands of messages archived. Forwarding each one to myself would take forever.) I'm looking for a less manual/tedious solution.
How can I purge old attachments that do nothing now but take up space, and still keep the original, valuable messages?

Sometimes, mostly Outlook users, sends me an email message with another email message embedded in it. It is done in Outlook by dragging an existing email message into the window where you're composing a new message.
In gmail I can see that message has a text attachement called "noname". This is how the attachment look in gmail:
How can I see this attached message properly without resorting to pasting the encoded text to base64 decoding websites or software?

I'm using Google Apps and sending/receiving mail with other users inside this domain.
I'm receiving messages with inline images (posted in the middle of sentences) but these inline images are not displayed in Gmail -- neither in the message body between the words where they should be, nor as attachments.
The same mail displays correctly in the standard Mail app on my iPhone -- see this comparison:

The same images are not shown in Gmail, and they also don't appear as attachments:
It looks like a problem with Gmail, and it's not limited to this particular message. How can I fix this?
Update: Looking at the original message content (see full in Pastebin) it appears that the images are inline in a multipart message, and Gmail is choosing the part without the inline images -- see excerpt below. Both sender and receiver are using Gmail (Google Apps edition) and neither one of us is seeing a message about "display hidden images".

I intentionally saved something very sensitive among a lengthy text file named xxxx.dll and saved as an attachment in my Gmail inbox as an email. Now that I needed it and tried to download it, Gmail simply gave me a blank web page saying 'Virus found'.
What do I do now to get my file back? It's very important!
Even ironier was I used 'xxxx trojan horse' as the subject of that email. I thought I was so clever but eventually turned out so stupid! HELP ME!
P.S. Already tried to send the email to another of my email that probably isn't so strict in the security policy but it kept failing to send as Gmail seemed to be detecting it and refused to send!

I have a huge number of e-mail messages saved in Gmail with single image (snapshot.jpg, ~500Kb each) attachments. Some messages are combined into e-mail chains (but not all of them due to e-mail chain limit of 100 messages). Now I want to download all attachments from such messages.
I've tried to Forward All messages and then send a message to myself, but it doesn't work since the final size of the message is higher than 25 Mb.
I've also tried to get image links through Google Chrome console (like $('.vI').src), but it returns just one image link.
Is there any other way to download all images from the messages with a particular subject?
I use Google Chrome on OSX.

I'm emailing some psd files with Gmail / Google Apps. They are above the 25mb send limit, so I'm zipping them. I sent a few successfully, but one file now won't send—I'm getting the error message:
filename.psd.zip contains an executable file. For security reasons, Wordfruit Mail does not allow you to send this type of file.
The other files were the same type and they sent ok.
I also tried sending the same file with a Gmail account that's not Google Apps and it sent ok.
Is there a different setting related to sending attachments from my Google Apps account? Can I change this setting or otherwise send the file with my Google Apps Gmail? How?

Another member of the team added an attachment to the wrong card in Trello.
Is it possible to move this attachment to the correct card on another list (same board) without downloading, deleting, and re-attaching it?

Just what the title says, the regular Gmail (unpaid) has a limit of 25MB on a file attachment.
Does the same limit apply to Gmail Enterprise accounts too?

I want to send a PDF attachment located on Google Drive from a Sheet.

Everything works fine except the attachment - i.e. if I run without the attachment it works fine.
I keep getting error Invalid argument: inlineImages
I've also tried with:
attachments: [file.getAs(MimeType.PDF)]
but that gives error that .getAs isn't recognised.

I would like to store an email messages with text and attachments as a sort of canned response. This is particularly useful since I sometimes feel it necessary to send out a pre-crafted message to select recipients, which is why I do not use filters in conjunction with canned responses.
Currently the most convenient option for me is to craft my email as a draft and just keep forwarding it to people. This method works great since all of the attachments remain attached and the text remain in tact as well. The downside is if I don't forward the message and send my draft, I need to save the message as a draft all over again. Additionally, whenever you forward a message a little header get thrown into the top of the message body and deleting it every time is annoying.
Another option is to use the canned responses to save the text of the message that I want to send but no attachment support is available. The closest anyone has come has been to place images in the signature via link to stored file on the web but that is really not a direct route, and this only works apparently with canned responses used in conjunction with filters.
Go back to Outlook :(

With a internet connection which charges based on data transfer (like 20 cents per 100KB), is it good to send binary content like pictures and videos by gmail or any other web based mail? I know that mail uses MIME protocol and converts binary data to base64 format which increases the size of the file by 30%. But when does it happen in case of gmail? Does my browser convert into base64 thereby increase the file size and then send(I pay more) or the file is first uploaded to the gmail server as binary and it converts to proper mime format and sends to destination server?
Also what happens when I download?
How does desktop mail clients like thunderbird, evolution work in this regard? which one will save data transfer and thereby money?

There is an email I need to send but attachments can't be base64 or my email gets rejected.
I checked within Gmail settings to see if there was some sort of option to change that but found nothing.
Is there any way to make the Gmail web client send "normal" attachments?

Attachments in Gmail are marked in threaded view with a paperclip icon next to each message that has an attachment
and also in the search results as with the first message below:
However, sometimes it is not shown, as with the second message above and in the threaded view of that same conversation below:
How do you make them all show? It is very tedious to find attachments you know are there when the icon shows up in neither the search results nor the threaded view.

I tried to add a card cover to my card and thought that helping the cropper would give good results. So I uploaded an image of 320x100 (see these specs). The image gets cropped to a 70x50 image and only shows a very small piece of the original image.
Question: What is the size to upload if you want the complete image to be shown as a card cover?
